Electronic Timing Board
We are pleased to announce the arrival of the latest version of our electronic timing board. Completely redesigned and using all of the latest technology in LED's and also software, the new timing board can run with any operating system from Windows 2000 onwards. As before, it is built to conform with FIA, IMSA and ACO regulations.
Not only is it ideal for endurance racing, but also for ordinary daytime racing. The board is far more visible than a conventional hand held device as it is equipped with four levels of LED brightness for night time driving through to the ultra-bright level for visibility in the midday sun.
The new board has also been designed to be very easy to update as new software comes online in the future. Also the user will have the ability to upgrade to Wi-Fi useage once the system has been thoroughly tried and tested.
Following the success of the original timing board, the new board promises to be a very large leap forward in communications.
Just as we did with the original timing board, we have spent many many hours in testing with the new board. What makes this latest timing board the best in the world is the advance work we have done with drivers and pit crew alike. One of the highlights of the testing was the introduction into the new board of variable frequency patterns for the LED bulbs themselves. The original version ran at 100 frames per second, which is the frequency that the LED lights flash at. For most scenarios, that is more than sufficient, but we found that at certain speeds and in certain vehicles, the vibration of the car caused the head and the eyes to roll at exactly the same rate and this made reading of the board quite difficult. The driver was missing out certain characters that were being displayed. This latest innovation, allows us to turn up the frequency of the LED 'flash' which we have now reset at 250 frames/second. This will compensate for particularly harsh vibrating cockpits.

The latest version timing board has been designed to be contained in a high impact plastic case with all the pcb boards set on shock absorbers. Accessibility is via the face of the unit and the polycarbonate is retained by resealable trim that keeps the board water resistant.
The unit runs off 240v, so may require voltage transformers when operating in countries where voltage output is different.
We also produce a fitting kit that allows you to attach this to the pit wall and for the board to slide in and out. However, there are a number of variations and clients can decide how they want to see the board mounted. A high quality padded bag is available for protection and transportation. For one off races, we may well be able to hire this unit - if booked well in advance.
